Yes dear Horo i completely understand you. There is indeed much the Fairy must clear and it would be inappropriate for me to mention details on this forum but i have put up my New Year message which speaks louder then my words ever could.
http://www.daz3d.com/forums/index.php?&ACT=50&fid=38&aid=42062_9nPTYYtHZKHKXOsZkDbP&board_id=1
The great battle of Minas Tirith is coming. It is not a myth but a remarkable insight into human nature.
Best wishes Horo.
Of course the message is superimposed on the render and i made this as obvious as possible.
Have i done anything wrong?
Kind regards from Australia.
Peter
I also don't understand the comment. I frequently use Photoshop in conjunction with Bryce renders, as I am sure many do, as in the card I posted earlier in the thread.
I also don't understand it either, BUT there have been many comments of like kind from that poster rendered in subtle expression designed to induce negativity for some time especially in respect to my imperfect Instancing Lab Tutorial [ which many people here, more worthy than i, have defended bravely ]. But it is not something i wish to worry about.
We [ actually YOU ] have a wonderful community of people who are so kind and talented. I am moved very much by that. And we have so many great artists who could run rings around me BUT who treat me with respect. Thus i absolutely adore them.
I don't worry about comments some people make - perhaps innocently or perhaps with unkind intent. Lets keep this forum really loving in 2013.
I will help you as much as i can by not reacting or overreacting to anything negative that comes my way.
Have a nice 2013.
Kind regards from Australia
Peter
P.S. is your name Pam?
Nice work around as always. I hope I will be able to catch up more timely in the future. Have all a nice 2013.
You and i will "catch up" a lot in 2013.
I am working on some things to share with you at the time of Swiss summer and autumn. NO more experiments and no more abstract renders!
More later.
Peter
Yes Peter, my name is Pam, and I am happy that many of the regular Brycers here know that, and use it regularly.
I often say that Pam is the Brycer, and Chohole is the moderator, to keep my two IDs separate.
Came across this one of my old images, one I did when I was doing some commission design work.
SO I thought, OK a quick New Year Quiz
Can anyone work out which song this design was based on. ?
Obviously a very Photoshopped Bryce image.
I have no idea.
Here we have Super-Man flying away and the Giant Turtle turns to watch him go. The Girl rests on the Giant Turtle.
My musical experience is limited to the composer Sibelius.
So i don't know the song.
But a nice composition you have done in a circular design.
The two hellicoid plant tops interest me because i have done similar things with MR.
Kind regards
Peter

Which is no skill of my own unless you count using search engines as a skill?
Bryce renders for 2013 - companions for this tutorial as follows http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrOmd7iqInA&list=HL1357052625
Eireann, beautiful jade dragon effect, I suppose you've already recycled the source for this?
No, but I like the render. Who cares whether it is "photoshopped"? The final artwork counts - though I must admit that I'm rather a purist and try to get things right right in Bryce.
Time frame sounds good. I'll probably have a bit more leisure time to tackle new things, Enjoy the summer down under, meanwhile.
Song: Hmmmm..."Sunshine Superman" by Donovan?
David....love the first Lighthouse one...so realistic.

No post-work !
@gabriel - I like what you're doing - it's out of the box thinking.
I've been experimenting again with an "ortonized" HDRI and a halo around Hitomi. She's absolutely safe, no goblin can do anything to her. (Gremlin, Gazers and spider from DAZ 3D).
dont look at the texture on the floor and table (there just an example) but this is the model I posted for anyone to download, just letting people see what can be done to it with lights etc...
scott.rafferty11...looking good. Referring back to your boats’ work, the placement might just be a simple click on the small ‘down-arrow’ (below the letter M) that you’ll see when you highlight the boat’s mesh. Clicking on the down-arrow will ‘ground’ the boats down onto the water plane, as at the moment they may simply lie just above it.
Horo...like the halo around the girl – it softens her and makes her stand out, too. Perhaps applying the same to the grazers might suit, also; take off the sharp-ish look to them? But I don’t know, as you're probably aiming for a certain type of final image.
Gabriel...looks very good. Tried your technique and it’s possible to produce some wonderful works simply by, say, changing the material of the sphere in ‘lieu’ (see how I threw in that French word there? :) ) to changing the sky. I think I’ll title the bottom image in your honour as ‘Fiery Planet - Moreau’ ;) Btw..no post work here either.
Edit: Second work (top) is also using Gabriel's technique, Title of this is "Event Horizon".

ok this is a neat trick the refraction sphere on the camera.. I like need to incorporate this into my abstract renders.
Of course the message is superimposed on the render and i made this as obvious as possible.

Kind regards from Australia.
PeterNo, you didnt do anything wrongI was just kidding.
Dont you people have any sense humor? LOL
And I already thought Singapore was bad when it comes to understanding jokes. They even wrote about it in foreign news papers.
Just relax, nobody is doing anything to you :)

P.S. is your name Pam?I dont know why you keep picking on my comment about that instancing lab tutorial.
Its just something "I" can not handle well because its a blob of text plus a blob of images. Just for "ME" (and maybe for 2 or 3 others) it is difficult to understand in this form. Can you chill now instead of freaking out over such comments?
IF I WASNT just an "anonymous person", "just another forum's user" to you, if you would know me in person you would have judged my comment differently, then your concerns would not even have come up.
Thank you for the nice comments.
@ GussNemo: You are indeed correct. There is something wrong with the dragon in my previous post. His pose and positioning are at odds with the ideal expressed in the title of the image. That's what I get for not sticking to the original image idea I had when first I posed him.
Here then is a corrected version of the image.
@Pam: Father Time looks really nice. Now the plate is another story. While looking at it I felt some parts were 3D and others 2D. That's a awfully nice plate you created.
@David: Love the additional lighthouse images.
@Horo: Both of those images look great. I really like the additional things in the second one. Nicely done.
@Rareth: I take it "on the camera" means surrounding the camera? Or right up against the camera, directly in front?
@mx: Now she looks to be defending the dragon, which is neat. And fits the scene much better. Nice work.
Gabriel gave a quick tutorial with pictures on how to do it on page 5, you basically take a transparent sphere with a refraction of 5 and align it with the camera, then set the camera FOV to 180,
@Rareth: Thanks. I have the darnedest time putting 2 and 2 together to get 4. :-)

I am sorry if i have offended you. But i have not [will not] judged you negatively! Your comments abut the instancing lab are perfectly valid and i have no problem with that [i have even acknowledged those shortcomings myself before you even commented].
To me you are NOT just another "anonymous person". i respect you as a real individual at the other end of the cyber monster we now must use. I know better than most, what it feels like to be misjudged on the internet!
Be at peace and enjoy participating on this forum.
I am now embarking on a new project. I am creating Bryce-ONLY fonts for my use. This means no Illustrator, Photoshop or any font creation program. That means when i want to sign my work or put text on tutorial images it will be 100% Bryce work. Also my Fonts will be roalty free because i created them.
I have always wanted to do that.
Kind regards from Australia.

PeterNo worries mate,
I am happy we have settled that misunderstanding now. BTW, I sent you a short PM. Sorry that I think differently. I also cant handle the Maya, Daz Studio, Maya, Lightwave, Hexagon, Bender interfaces. I think they are all rubbish, but its just me and a few others. I just have a different way of thinking and some of my comments are rather direct or blunt without intending to offend anyone. Maybe I am suffering from a slight Aspergers. Thats why I have probably only 3 or 4 people I sometimes visit. For the rest: I go out a lot (not to the city or partying but just on a walkabout), I need a lot of exercise.
and no, my name is not Pam and it was never Pam. According to my Birth Cert. its Éireann, unless my mom made a mistake when registering my name after birth :)
How would you make bryce letters without resorting to some kind of images or tertiary program (Wings, Hexagon etc)?
I am just curious, and yes, I do a lot of Photoshopping myself. The attached image is heavily Photoshopped :) ;)
Merci pour ce grand honeur... It's just a simple technique to follow the fashion of "small planets". Nothing new... but it's fun !
You know that the French have always an inordinate pride... It is said in France that Bryce was created by the French (Eric Wenger) ... and forget Ken Musgrave, pupil of Benoit Mandelbrot ... ;-)
Letters are just geometry, made from curves and lines.
Easy as ABC. :cheese:
This looks a bit like the surface of the sun.
