Sounds very interesting! I'm always trying to learn more on this particular topic, as I just designed my first cover in DAZ and Photoshop for my latest book. Will definitely check it out.

    Hi Llynara,

Thanks for your interest. I was going over some final checks on the tutorial with Esther last night and she has prepared a whole series of useful tips and information for this type of artwork, that demands a certain type of simplicity, some story telling-  yet instant attention - all at the same time!

Thanks, I have signed up and am looking forward to it. I am finding the typography part of cover design the most challenging personally. I've gotten great advice here in the DAZ forums, and am looking to learn more about it. Glad you all are covering that side of it.

Those UTC/EST/PDT(???) times don't line up.

EDIT: Ah, two of them are reversed on the graphic itself. Eastern should be 4, Pacific should be 1. The write-up looks correct.

I read about this webinar, but just can't swing it right now.  I am so glad to see it will be showing up in the store soon.  I really got a lot out of Esther's postwork webinar that you guys did.

    Hi Llynara,

Many thanks for attending! It was great to have you participate and it was good to see lots of questions and interaction from the group in this session. I'll liaise with the presenter Esther to see if we can look at a potential sequel; it'll be a case of gathering enough discussion or "pain" points to solve to do with producing artwork for books or similar promo work.

Absolutely. The webinar recording is with the DAZ store testing team at the moment and I think will be released, probably by mid January latest.

Sorry I didn't get back here until now. Just been really busy.  I think the most useful thing about the webinar was seeing a little bit of Esther's workflow.  I found it interesting to see what she actually rendered out of DS and how she took it and turned it into something that was a very dynamic image.  I've only been using DS for the last two years and only just in the last six months really improved my renders.  Added to that, I've been learning how to do a lot of post in Gimp on my images.  Understanding how to use programs like Photoshop or Gimp effectively was something I never understood how to do until just recently.  The quality of my images have really taken off.  I still get images that bomb or don't turn out how I expect but the number of good images I create is far more than the number of bad ones I still manage to make now and then.  I hope that means I'm getting better.  :)

When I first started I did everything in DS but it was because it was the only thing I knew how to do.  I'd never really used a graphics program for much more than opening an image and resizing it before.  Now, I'm effectively using layers and creating art.  Seeing how others use those tools that I'm still learning how to use helps me figure out turn my images into my visions.  So, thanks.
