  • Do you mean 4.9.2.70? In any event, that is becuase you are building a Renderman Shader Language shader (for 3Delight) but the render engine iss et to Iray - create a new shader (from the pane's own File menu) and it will be an Iray MDL shader, or switch the render engien to 3Delight in Render Settings (Editor or Advanced tab).

  • I apologize for the version is the 4.9.2.70.

I applied to your instructions and now I can see the preview.
I do not have enough words to thank you. Thanks again

If I change on Editor Rendering  Engine : 3Delight everything works perfectly as in picture #1.

Creating a new shader the file menu (Shader Iray MDL) nothing happens as in pict #2.

Thanks again for your patience and step by step answer on how to solve.

    Grazie e saluti

    Ciao

    Maurizio

  • Creating a new shader won't enable previews in the 3Delight network with Iray set as the Render Engine, it gives a new tab with a starter MDL shader set up for you (which is a much more complex affair from the outset as there is no equivalent of the DS Default Material brick). I don't think previews actually work in the MDL networks anyway.

They don't...well, at least I haven't ever had any that did.
