So November, time for Thanksgiving, lots of rain, clouds and all sorts of bad weather in the northern hemisphere. So the ones living in the southern hemisphere can be thankful they are not in the north.

Huh, first again...

I've been watching a lot of CGI-Anime lately, so in honor of my first Iray render, I thought I would do something silly. So here goes.

I am so Thankful that I'm not a... Teen Aged Super Hero.

Think of all the fighting, the anguish, the pain and the over saturated hormones.
Been there, done that, long since lost the tee shirt.

Ladybug & Chat Nor is a French CGI cartoon that was first broadcast in March 2015.
Shezow is from Australia, and the car came with the job. The show received a lot of bad press from the wackos.
Batgirl is batgirl.

The costume textures are from screen shots.

You will find the shows on Youtube.

As to why they are in Paris, that is a mystery.

I did not see the "spikes" and I could not confirm the Bike 004 link from the Renderosity Newsletter.

I think the spikes are on Shezow/Guy's chest and the Bike 004 link is under Marketplace Articles where it says get your FREE download:

nitehawk I was following the bread crumbs on the pigtail hair. I am assuming that this model can be read by Sketchup. Do you have to have Pro to convert to obj?

Sorry for not being clear.
The spikes are on the upper sides of the thigh boots. They are hard to see.
For a better look, I used the same costume in an entry I made for the March 2014 Freebie contest.
You can see it on my DA art page Here

For the bike, I'll edit my entry to say 'middle of page'.

As for the pigtails, it's video game hair in .xps format, so I should list it as no count, although you can convert it in Blender.

Sorry to be a pest nitehawk but I am curious. Okay I found out that mesh.ascii files are xps files but when I look at my blender I do not see xps or mesh as being an option in the import. Is there a plugin for blender for this type of file? Do you mind sharing your process of conversion. Those hairs are really nice.

Now that you have pointed them out I can see them. I was squinting all over around the head trying to find them. That's what I get for making assumptions.

Not a problem, I asked for comment.
You will need Blender 2.7 XPS Tools, get them Here.
It has a list of tutorials for Blender.
There is a lot of nice hair on Deviant Art, but you have to work on it to use it in DAZ Studio.
I used this model because it looks exactly like the hair in the TV show.

Converting the hair was not a problem. Had more trouble with the car.
I've gotten into the habit of running all the xps/mesh.ascii & .skp to .obj convert files through PoseRay to fix the bad normals and phantom vertices problem.

Sketchup Pro 8 .obj output leaves a lot to be desired. PoseRay will fix most of it.
In PoseRay:
Load tab - load model.
Group tab - check the weld verts box then click update tab. All the bad verts and normals will go away.
Materials tab - verify that the texture files are right. Having the tex files in the same directory as the prop will save you grief later.
Save to obj tab, save button, navigate to your prop directory and your done.
Uncheck the texture path box, this will save you from editing the .mtl file.

I took the car into Hexagon to flip the normals on half of it so it would render right.

Some of xps/mesh.ascii files will have the texture files in .dds format. Studio does not use .dds.
I've started using IfanView to convert the .dds texture files to .png.
I was using DDS Convert, but it won't run under win7.
Then I'll make the trans mats for the hair in PaintNet, simply because it's so easy.

When imported into DS, it comes in as a static prop with no morphs or meta data. You'll need to use D-Forms or rig it to pose it.

Thank you nitehawk. I love how-tos. Sorry I did not respond very quickly. I was buzy putting together a new freebie package. I will be trying your process next. That was a lot of work converting the materials of all those older generation figures over to iray. Nice job.

Yeah, you need to include the "*" at the end - the forum software doesn't include it as part of the link, unfortunately. If you copy the whole url, including the asterisk, and past it into your browser, it will take you to the list of download links on the Internet Archive. Alternatively, when the error page pops up when using the link, you will notice a link at the bottom that it asks if you want to try - click on that and it will also take you to the downloads page.

Now that you mention it, Dana ...

I suppose that there may have been something subliminal at work there as I was "assembling" the character. I basically just started with an image of what she might look like and it evolved from there as I pulled together the various pieces.

I'm pretty sure that there are many people here who don't have a clue who "Momma" was.

Thank You. That might happen :) I have Hungarian family friend with replaced hip and he is over 80 but he is doing good. My leg is not doing so good lately I have to admit, but I am hoping that it will hold on. I was swimming a lot this summer and it helped me very much, I probably will try going to the swimming pool after new year because of that and will need to take care of my weight too.
