This was kinda of tough one but everyone did a heck of  good job and some very  interesting concepts

    Here’s mine: “Street Racers”

Cars are Ravbheart’s  Yamaki GTX-R. Thought the “sponsor” skull graphics fit the season (Text says  “Langry Lime Energy Drinks” btw). From DAZ3D.

Buildins are Stonemasons Greeble city blocks - one of the most versitile models I’ve ever used. Also from DAZ3D. Was going to add some driver figures but was running low on RAM.

HDRI is one of Horo’s “Deep Space” images used as backdrop and illumination.

Lots of soft shadow ranged omni lights for street lights and spots/omnis for the headlights (which I never got quite the way I wanted them).

Rendered at 64 RPP, about 50 minutes. No post other then sig.

Good luck to all and thanks for looking!

Entry #3 Triathlon 3: Runners - Sometimes the most difficult competitor to beat is oneself

I've been fiddling with ideas for this one for three weeks but nothing worked the way I wanted. I'm not entirely happy with this (I can't get the sky as I want) but with the deadline looming, I had to post or abandon it.

S Ray - quite an assortment of sports represented there. Good idea.

Dan Whiteside - another good idea. The lighting seems pretty good to me.
I feel your pain about adding characters too - my second entry kept crashing Bryce with out-of-memory problems, and some of my trials for the third did the same, which is why I ended up going for the stripped-down scene.

    Nice one, Dan and Melanie.

Second one...'Surf's Up' (the surf/breaking waves etc., was easier than I expected, where an athmospheric mat, from Byrce, was applied to a cylinder running across a seperate water plane). Forgive me on commenting on others: as I've viewed the most-recent, that are I'm sure are excellent.

Yeah, cheers Vos...much appreciated, and Horo, too (I forgot to mention that the sky is from the 'Landscape Under Fantastic Skies' product by Horo & Brinnen).

Cheers, Hansmar  - surfed for several years: truly a another-world-like, sea-like-experience - power of waves etc.

I hope I am not too late. Regarding the challenge normally I have no ideas but time, but for this I had some ideas but unfortunately no time. :-)
I started with my render yesterday, 31 October, honestly but because anti-aliasing lasted so long, and I was really tired, I had to go to bed. And that's why the render was not finished until 1 November.  Probably it may still be considered? The title of my picture is "Distance Runner". I hope you will find him ;-)

Cheers, drachenlords and mtnmen...just a bit of surfing fun (btw, there should be a small, wire-like strap connected to the board and to the ankle of the surfer - a fail-safe device that when one falls off the board, [it] doesn't sail off to shore with the powerful surf). I couldn't find a suitable wire device, so somewhat a defunct, real-life render.
