Need some render advice; Assassins Creed, DA, & Skyrim related
I'm once again hard at work on my annual Xmas gift artwork project where I create a personalized artwork for each of my friends and family. One of my best friends is a big fan of Assassins Creed, Dragon Age, and Skyrim. Thing is, I've never really played any of those (tried but quickly lost interest) so I don't really know how to go about creating something for her.
Are there any Poser products out there that relate (however loosely) to Assassins Creed, Dragon Age, or Skyrim? I figure finding out what I can actually use would be the best place to start. Any other advice would be appreciated as well.
The forum members here really came to my rescue with the Doctor Who (something else I didn't really know about at the time) artwork I made last year so I'm hoping we can do it again. :)
Thanks!

Any of the medieval villages/sets from Faveral will do
The Supersuit Fantasy set will get you all the armor that you could want
Valandar has lots of Medieval Weapons
And, of course, for Skyrim/Dragon Age there's the SubDragon LE (free with DS4) or the MilDragon2

You can find lots of screenshots at Skyrim Nexus and Dragon Age Nexus for reference or inspiration.
You should be able to find poses for your scene using the keywords: creed action poses

The Wyvern would actually fit Skyrim better than the Mil Dragon or the Subdragon.

Reason? Skyrim dragons have their wings as their forelegs, instead of having four legs plus wings.
Hi Lizzy,
If you have the Dude character there is some free Assassins Creed like clothing,
http://forum.runtimedna.com/showthread.php?57687-The-Assassin-Dude-Free-Clothing!
hope it helps. ( :
It isn't exact copy but it was largely inspired by Assassin Creed II (http://www.sharecg.com/v/47578/view/11/Poser/M4-Eagle-Cape)
This is for older figure (so it won't work with Michael 4 and most probably won't work with Genesis without some convertors) but it is very much like Altair's outfit from ACI (http://www.xurge3d.com/inc/sdetail/90/13990)
And this is more like Ezio from ACII for M4 (http://www.daz3d.com/shop/jack-of-hearts)
I'm not sure which figures you'd use but there are some barbarian clothes (which might work for Skyrim theme)
There is a pretty big list
Skyrim-inspired helmets (http://www.sharecg.com/v/57024/View/11/Poser/Iron-Helmet) would work with some repositioning for many figures
For Dragon's Age... I'm not sure if you want fighters or mages but almost all fantasy catalog is useful there with careful mixing and matching. Just look at screenshots or promo art and try to create something like that
You can make dwarves or elves out of any generation 3+ figures
There is also that site that I suggest for good armor http://www.xurge3d.com/products
For female armor, if you use V4 or Genesis, I highly suggest Historical Armor by Arien and varios Valandar's armors for male figures (http://www.daz3d.com/shop/valandar)
I don't play any of those games, but a friend's son plays Skyrim, The Elder Scrolls and they have some nice computer wallpaper downloads available --> http://www.elderscrolls.com/skyrim/downloads/
I have the 4th one from the left (Environment) as my wallpaper on this laptop.
Awesome! This helps me a lot!
Thank you, everyone!
If anyone else has more suggestions, links, etc. Feel free to post them here because I'm still brainstorming. :)
I don't know too much about Assassin's Creed, but I do know that Dragon Age and Skyrim feature heavy character appearance customization-you might ask your friend for screencaps of their characters in those games-most screencapping players will gladly show you pics of their characters to the crack of doom. Dragon Age is noted for having distinctive supporting characters with their own character arcs, so it might also be worth asking your friend about their favorites of those, and then googling to find out what they look like. Skyrim's NPCs tend to be more generic-looking and not heavy on character development except what you read into them. You can ask your friend about favorite Skyrim NPCs (you might ask for screencaps, if they use addons that alter the NPCs appearances), but I suspect you will find that the friend is less passionate about that. Skyrim is likely the easiest in terms in terms of roughly matching the look, though: winter scenery, several kinds of basic medievalish architecture with a bit of Norse/early Russian influence, a fairly standard fantasy bestiary, and most types of fantasy armor in your runtime that look combat-ready will be more or less plausible in Skyrim (yes, including Legionnaire for Genesis).
I didn't see this one listed above. Parts may be useful for an Assassins Creed style pic:
Battle Guardsman
I just asked her about her Skyrim characters and she gave me the following two links:
http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Argonian
http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Khajiit_(Skyrim)
Is there anything in Poserland that comes close to either of those types of characters? I'm thinking I may have to go with the Assassins Creed or Dragon Age ideas...
The M4 V4 Cat people here at DAZ3D will be very close to the Skyrim ones.
I think it gets pretty close. http://www.daz3d.com/shop/creature-feature-for-v4-a4-bundle
For the Khajiit there is a few morphs that could be used for several characters.
For A3 and H3 there is Melody and Micha over at RDNA - http://www.runtimedna.com/Melody-and-Micah-Bundle.html
There is also some texture packs over there intended for those two.
Plus this outfit specifically for Micha - http://www.runtimedna.com/Jungle-Beat-for-Micah.html
With those two characters, because they use A3 and H3 as a base, you can use all A3 and H3 clothes on them. Keep in mind though that they heads are not morphs so hair, hood and hats will need manuall fitting.
For V4 and M4 there are the creature creator packs here at DAZ - http://www.daz3d.com/shop/m4-v4-creature-creator-bundle
Same for Genesis - http://www.daz3d.com/shop/genesis-creature-creator-bundle

I am not sure how your going to make an Argonian, other than dead on the side of a road, stripped of it's valuables and with half a dozen arrows or more in it's back. Cause other than target practice, I am not sure what they are good for.
My Reptillian morph for Genesis may not be good for Argonians, but its texture and UV Coordinates put on a genesis male or female, with the Creature Creator snake head at about 50% and turtle about 25% might make a decent Argonian.
Creature Creator: http://www.daz3d.com/shop/genesis-creature-creator-bundle
Reptillian: http://www.daz3d.com/shop/reptillian-for-genesis
Great ideas!
I think I got the Genesis Creature Creator morphs... will have to check my order history. I don't know if I have Reptillian or not but it looks cool enough to get anyway. :) I have RawArt's Cat World and I believe those textures will work on Genesis, right? I haven't tried putting M4/V4 textures on the Poser Genesis yet so it's something I'll have to try.
Valandar is right about the Wyvern being most like the game's dragons from what references I've found so I'll grab that too, after my next payday that is.
Since my friend plays both types of characters (one as a female and one as a male for two simultaneous games) I could make one artwork with both type characters in it... hmm... all fighting a dragon...
I think I'll nix Assassins Creed because every idea I've come up with is a little too bloody to be given as a holiday gift. lol
I'm also making a Harry Potter image for her... just in case I screw this gaming one up. I just need to be able to turn the Mil. Cat into Crookshanks...
