First off thanks Daz for the supersuit. But what I would like to request is some accessories such as belts, weapons, maybe a plate armor overlay, in the sci-fi superhero genre.
Comments
Agreed! I feel like more options and accessories would be great.
I just bought the new Supersuit G3 for the Males, and I also bought the Guardian for it. Having trouble making them work. Are there readmes or instructions? (I'm on a Macintosh, OS X 101.11.6.) I can't get the cowl or mask to show. I've tried clicking on the items in the Geotrims folder for the Supersuit. I've tried selecting things in the Scene Tab, as well as the whole Supersuit. For example, I can select Neck, Collar and Mask in the Scene Tab, and then click on the Neck, Collar and Mask item in the Geotrims folder, but still nothing happens. In the HD Shaping Folder, if I click on Cowl or Mask, nothing happens.
For the Raw Guardian Bodysuit, if I select it, it applies to the person figure, not to the Supersuit. Is that right? (I guess I just need to have the Supersuit installed.) By using the Surface Selection Tool, I can select parts of the Raw Guardian Bodysuit and apply iRay shaders to it.
But, for the Raw Guardian Bodysuit, it promises more Cowl Morphs. I can't find them. They don't seem to be either in the Parameters Tab nor in the Shaping Tab. Where are the Cowl Morphs, and how do I make them show up?
I also bought the Destiny Guardian DG iRay Action Fabrics for the Supersuit, which I can use on the Raw Guardian version as well, and those do apply. Except I'm confused by the Utilities Folder and the Tiles which are in that folder. There are items going from Tile 1 to Tile 10. What do those do?
So my problem seems to be with the Supersuit itself, that is getting parts to show up, such as the Mask or Cowl. How do I use the Supersuit itself?
A Tutorial, or some Read-mes would be very helpful, especially if they explained things such as "in the Utilities folder, you'll find items labelled Tile 1 to Tile 10. These items are used to . . . "
Or, again: "To make the cowl or mask appear once you have applied the Supersuit, you need to do the following things. Step 1, . . . "
I grouped all of these products together because they all seem to go along with the Supersuit. Should I post them separately as different Threads? Really, I just need some help in getting to know how to use these products.
I like this idea. I think the supersuit is a nice idea, but unlike the previous suit, it really isn't designed to work with shaders. It seems more designed to use texture sets which is a step back in my opinion.
As far as the mask and the cowl, do you get the entire suit loaded? What you need to do is goin the surfaces tab and change the opacity for the items you don't want showing up. There are 3 mask items, 1 lip surface, eyes, and cowl. If you change the opacity surface of those they will hide various parts of the bodysuit to achieve different looks.
The main reason I like this is that finally we get the option in material zones to do BOTH the classic 'trunks over tights' (aka 'underwear on the outside') AND the short-pants. It's the number-one thing that stopped me from buying the No-Suit Morph.
The Guardian suit though is missing the option for side panels, creating a wide stripe down the sides of the body/legs.
The mask shapes are good, but I'd also like a narrow classic domino mask zone
and the classic 'Halloween Mask' domino mask + nose.
Not a huge surprise, here; the entire way the Supersuit is constructed is completely bizarre and nothing like any other clothing Item I've used. It does not, as with most things, selectively render some material zones transparent - ir replaces them with other things, the attachments. It's entirely possible, if you don't do everything exactly in the step that the non-existant instructions detail, that you will have nothing happen, or several things happen you don't want.
Supersuit and Guardian are two seperate items. Why they appear together like that, I have no idea, but they shouldn't. The Guardian suit does not respond well to the weird 'mask-collar' thing, because that only applies to the Supersuit specifically -- if you try it, you'll get told you're missing files.
You'd need to put on the supersuit. You'll see the default suit, which is a full-body suit with eyeholes and nothing else showing.
In the scenes tab then select the supersuit, not the person wearing it, not it's surface. then select one of the shirt-sleeve options or leg options or the mask/collar thing in Geotrims
The Guardian cowl morphs are under Actor category in Parameters, when you select the Guardian bodysuit.
Thank you for the input on this. One thing I like about the Guardian is that it has an option to turn any part of the suit transparent, and a second thing I like is that it includes more zones. So, with Destiny Guardian's DG iRay Action Fabrics, I can design my own versions. Also, I found that the extra Guardian morphs show up for the SuperSuit but not for the Guardian version. Anyway, if I want Bat Ears, or any of the other morphs, I can still have them. I just need to start with the SuperSuit.
In General, I want to see the old Supersute updated with Iray materials.. is that possible? The old one rocked and had zillions of options.. do it again. Please
Yes, I agree. The old Supersuit is wonderful. DS 4.8 includes, I think, generic iRay Shaders. I have tried some of those on the old Supersuit, and they work. But, yes, new iRay updates to all of those shaders would be great.
I tried my good old G1 Supersuit on G3M and G3F with 'Wear them All' (https://www.daz3d.com/wear-them-all-autofitting-clones-and-clothing-smoothers-for-genesis-3-male-s) - perfect! I don't use Iray yet, but I think with some good Iray shaders the suit will look all new and shiny.
Yes, I have that Wear Them All. Maybe I'll try the G1 Supersuit on G3. Thanks for the tip. In DS 4.8 (that's what I'm uisng) under shaders, you'll find a set from DAZ as well as one from nVidia. The first DAZ shader is called something like "Uber." If you select the Supersuit and apply that shader, it won't change any of the patterns or colors of the suit, but it applies iRay components such as the metallic, and so forth. There's a trick to using the other shaders. You might want to check with someone else to be sure, and save your file before you try this, but I think if you hold down the Option (Macintosh) or Alt key (Windows), it applies the components for, let's say, car paint, but it keeps the patterns and colors of the suit. Otherwise, it changes everything.
The common "wisdom" is that you must have iRay shaders in order to use the iRay render engine. Well, just the other day, I imported on older Stonemason setting called The Back Streets with Poser shaders. My figure and suit was set up with iRay shaders. I thought about all of the time it would take to apply those iRay shaders to each item in the set. Ah, I decided to start rendering with the iRay engine, and watch what happened. Guess what? The Back Streets set looked fine to me. So, just experiment.
Also, that Destiny Guardian's DG iRay Action Fabrics that I mentioned above: she indicated that it can be used with other items. I have not tried it with the G1 Supersuit, but I have tried it with other items, and it works. Maybe I'll try using the G1 Supersuit, selecting different portions of it with the selection tool, and applying these shaders to it. Just making a suggestion here. Oh, one other thing about this product, she includes Tile Settings from 1 to 10. If you click on those Tile Settings, it changes the size of the patterns. Larger numbers, such as 9 or 10, make the patterns smaller. Smaller numbers, such as 1 or 2, make the patterns larger. You can get quite a lot of different looks, just by changing the tile sizes.
I'm not recommending that you buy any of these products, just making a few suggestions. One thing's for certain: you can go ahead and try the iRay render engine, even if you don't have iRay shaders applied to everything.
I'm back. caravelle's remarks about the G1 Supersuit on G3M and G3F got me experimenting. Yep, I got the G1 SuperSuit fit to Gianni 7, a genesis 3 male. Using the Surface Select Tool, I selected some of the headgear of the suit. Next, with the Transparent Shader iRay shader, that comes with the Guardian version of the G3 SuperSuit, I made parts of the headgear transparent. Then, I used the Surface Select Tool to select parts of the G1 SuperSuit, and I applied, using Destiny Guardian's DG iRay Action Fabrics, various of those shaders to different areas of the G1 SuperSuit. So, yes, it all works.
Under the Shader Presets/iRay/DAZ Uber, I applied the iRAy Uber Base to various other parts of the suit, and yes, it does add the iRay components to those items. So, all of those things worked as I expected.
I could not figuire out, however, how to apply other of the Daz iRay shaders to parts of the suit without changing the colors. I held down the shift key, option key, control key, etc. Does anyone know how to do this: apply the iRay components of a shader without changing the colors or patterns? For example, if I apply Fabric Velvet Red, it does change the color of that part of the SuperSuit.
Iray will convert whatever the default shader is "on the fly" while doing the initial calculations (the part before you see anything in the render window), and I have done that with smaller sets like the City Bus Stop.
Sorry that I couldn't help you with the shaders.
I don't know what this means. Does it mean that even if you have not converted shaders to iRay shaders, the iRay render engine will somehow convert them as it starts to render? If so, great.
Nope, don't be sorry. You inspired me.
I still don't know how to do this part:

There's supposed to be a procedure for how to do this. Does anyone know how to do this?
It's the Iray Uber Base that will apply the Iray shader without changing settings (as long as the surface currently uses a shader with standardly-named parameters). Most of the Iray shaders for particular materials won't do that, and in many cases don't have equivalent parameters.
At render time DS will replace any non-Iray shaders with the Iray Uber Base, again preserving parameters using the standard names.
OK, thanks. That makes it clear to me.
I'm looking forward to when they start updating this Genesis 3 version with some add ons like they did the V4 'old' version. I keep saying that making expandable products that allow customization like that partilar suit did would be amazing. The customization and flexibility of that outfit makes it by far the best ever made by DAZ 3d... period. remake it and make it better.
Here! Here!
I wish Joe Quick would be inspired to repeat what he did for the Golden age set but for the G3M figure. It was an AMAZING set.
HUH? What 'golden age set'? Just curious...
I was hoping somebody had good news on any progress for a supersuit like this one:

Come on... update it already...
Okay, I will be first to admit I am a HUGE fan of Joe Quick and his work. He has a comic lovers sensibility and a MAJOR skill when it comes to modelling.
Joe Quick made an AMAZING set for M4 called Golden Age which was for sale at the other place for a long time but is now free and available at ShareCG.

It is MOST amazing. ENJOY!
Have I mentioned the man is amazing? :)
I don't think I used the word "amazing" enough in the last post. What do you think? :)
Inquire: There is a neat trick if you have the patience to do it.
Start by adding the G3M Supersuit to G3M. THEN add the Guardian suit.
In the Scene pane, make the G3M supersuit invisible (i.e. click the "eye " icon).
Go to the Parameters tab, with the Guardian Suit selected and change the "Conform to" setting from G3M to the G3M suit.
Go back to the G3M Supersuit and turn on a morph for the bat ears.
If my calculations are correct, you should now have Bat ears on the Guardian Suit too.
If you know how to save a morph, you can now do so on the Guardian Suit to have it saved. There TONS of helpful morphs on the Genesis Supersuit that you can move into clothing for better form and fits. Its IS an amazing set.
