That is a 'Substance' format texture set file from the business Algorithmic. Their texture editing suit costs about $200 and is mostly used i nUnity and other game engines.
I'm going to put in a plug for Substance. They let you "rent to buy" the full suite and it is pretty awesome. $19.99 a month if I recall correctly. Unity can use the substance files (which is amazing) but painter is popular for doing textures.
Ok thanks. I looked up "Allegorithmic" (sp?) and keywords like "Unity Engine format cheaper Expensive" in Google Images and a lot of interesting stuff came up - lots of Alien spaceships and "shiny areas on wet dark cobble stones at night", sort of thing.
Always good to have a peripheral sense of what's out there... thanks again.

I think it a fusion play on the words algorthim and allegory but I don't know.
I wanted to buy their SW suite as well but it won't run on an Intel HD Graphics 3000 GPU.
