Not using gpu when iray render

in Technical Help (nuts n bolts)

Hello all!

I just bourght a new laptop with a Gtx980m card with 4gb vram.

i have set up a scene with 3 Genesis 3 charters and some background. 

Anyway, when i use SimTenero iray memory assistant it say that i have 900mb vram left. But when render it still doesn't use my gpu, just the CPU. Why is that?

when i set up a scene with just one charter it is ok, the gpu is rendering.,,

    Do you have CUDA installed? It probably wouldn't be installed by default on a new system.

    Ok, well i have no ide..i have installed the latest nvidia drivers(around 300mb). Just used the express setup..

    How and what do i have to do more to use the cuda cores?

    Assuming this is a Windows system Cuda is not a separate install.

    Aha, it is a Windows computer. And i have the latest nvidia drivers and latest daz3d..

    Does you GPU have CUDA cores in it?

    The Memory Assistant is just a guess. Download something like GPU-Z so you can see the actual load.

    I use Windows 10.

    yes, i think the gpu have like 1500 something cuda cores.

    i will download z-gpu and watch.
