[RESOLVED] "View UV" + texture

Hi
I would change the texture of clothes but I do not have the base texture. so
1) I display the UV texture with "UV view".
2) I made a screenshot, cropped UV in my image software.
3) I applied a texture test on UV.
4) In the DS, I applied the new texture.
I thought it would not be as simple. Because the texture test applies repeating. Without complying with the coordinates of the map.
How draws I apply a texture to the UV?
Thank you
F.

What item are you trying to texture? Most come with their own UV templates on the Daz store, so you can use those to apply the texture properly. The repeating texture implies that what you're trying to map isn't properly UV mapped in the first instance.
Yes, that's usually what I do ... But this time the dress has no UV map I think. That's why I thought of using the UV map created by DS.
It is not possible?
The clothing comes from: https://www.wilmapsdigitalcreations.co.uk/view_product.php?id=30
Thank you

You need to export the item as an .obj file then extract the UVMap using a UV program. There are some free ones available.
Once you have painted your texture onto the UVMap you apply it using the Surface tab. Make sure Tiling is set to 1.
Those jeans aren't UV mapped so they use repeating textures instead. You'd need to redo the UV's if you wanted to add things like logos or details to the appearance.
The jeans are UVMapped, but I added the textures using tiled images. You should still be able to do it the way I posted above.
Try changing it to "View nodes" and you'll see the UVMap.
You need to change the tiling to 1 to get the map to fit.
UVMapper Classic is free for Macintosh and Windows

it's very simple to use and it's an invaluable piece of software for 3D artists.
Blender is free for mac/win as well and has the ability to UVMap with more control than UVMapper Classic but it's a dedicated suite of software that happens to (among a multitude of other things) UVMap so it does require you to have some grasp of it's intimidating (at first glance) interface.

1) I exported Genesis and pants .obj
2) I deleted Genesis and kept only the pants in the obj file.
3) I opened the obj file in UVMapper.
4) I save unfolding in bmp
5) I applied the texture image in Genesis.
But I have the same problem.
Thank you.

Did you set the tiling to 1?
When?
DS since I leave the default options:
When you apply the texture in the surface tab!
I see no option doing this.
I select the texture image from "Surface (Color) / Diffuse Color" and the texture is applied.
I looked at the options but nothing.
Here's a screen shot of where to find it.
Perfect !!! Everything is perfect.
A big thank you for the help.

No problem. Glad you got it sorted.
