Daz 3D Reveals Digital Makeup Looks with First-of-its-kind Web3 Technology
Owners will be able to move their Non-fungible tokens (NFT) across two blockchains, a groundbreaking application for NFT upgrades.
Today we’ve revealed the second round of digital makeup looks created in collaboration with Clinique. In an NFT first, the NFTs have cross-chain upgrade functionality, using Polygon’s Ethereum Layer 2 Blockchain to launch with the ability to become an Ethereum token on the main Layer 1 Blockchain. Each NFT makeup look, once revealed, can be applied to Daz 3D’s debut NFT collection of female, female-identifying, and non-binary avatars, Non-Fungible People (NFP), for a new and expressive look ready to represent holders in the metaverse.
With the initial tokens living on the Polygon Blockchain, a Proof of Stake verifying mechanism for Ethereum, holders will be able to move and sell their tokens. By burning the token and revealing the makeup look, the same holders will be able to update their NFP NFT metadata, which currently lives on the Ethereum Layer 1 chain. This cross-chain functionality is a major step for NFTs, showing the potential for an NFT to be blockchain agnostic.
This reveal is the second of three reveals planned through September, with four of six makeup looks available today to NFP holders who received them through a random NFT airdrop. Three groups of 1968 NFPs will have the option to apply them to their avatar using Daz 3D’s NFP state-of-the-art dashboard at nfp.daz3d.com.
“Daz 3D is again pushing the possibilities of web3 with a first-of-its-kind technology allowing NFT cross-chain functionality,” said Ty Duperron chief product officer at Daz 3D. “These on-chain looks and our new off-chain backgrounds are stunning, and we can’t wait to see them on NFPs.”
Become a Non-Fungible People holder by purchasing an NFT on Opensea or Rarible.
